HERE'S AMY!

Let's have a warm UJM welcome for Amy. She's new here and we are anxious for you to get to know her. So we asked her to say a few words about herself...

I grew up in a musical family.

I've been acting and singing since the age of 13. Singing in school choirs throughout jr. high, singing in plays and playing the piano since 11 yrs of age. I started booking more acting gigs at 13 and took that seriously throughout high school my resume is on IMDB. At the age of 17 I started singing with a girl group for about 4 years (that's how I met Lorenzo) but shortly after returned to acting and got into modeling. I ran into Lorenzo in the valley and by that time I was ready to sing as a solo artist. I originally planned to sing inspirational music so I started writing on the piano. Then after practicing I noticed my tone was more alternative and Lorenzo had these alternative tracks so Lorenzo thought I should write to them. I sing in Spanish and English. As I recorded these songs I developed my alternative style and my music is still giving a positive message. I look forward to performing with a live band and dancing. I went on tour before and I love the feeling when your on stage entertaining people.

Creating music and then getting to perform your creation is a remarkable thing. That inspires me and will hopefully inspire others as well.

M'Jestie the songwriter behind the current Dance Hit "Pon De Replay" lent her considerable talents in penning the tune "Soft Spot" which Image just recently finished work on in the studio.

We are thrilled with the result and we think you will be too. Take a listen here.

RUMORS
LORENZO SPOTTED AT STARBUCKS?

Rumor has it that Confessions of a Piano Player, Lorenzo's seminal album featuring some of the greatest jazz musicians of our day, has been spotted at a local Starbucks.

When asked about this, Lorenzo was unusually tight lipped, not wanting to let the cat out of the bag...or shall I say the CD?

We'll tell ya about it anyway. It seems that Urban Jazz Music is close to inking a deal with Starbucks to sell Confessions at stores coast to coast.

The CD features the talents of James DeBarge, Ricky Lawson, Gerald
Allbright, David Williams, Freddie Washington
and Seidah Garrett.
